Watch Flow

A SaaS that automatically schedules new videos from your YouTube channels into your time slots, and reminds you when it is time to watch them.

Preview of the Watch Flow project
The context

Turning a "watch later" pile into a routine that sticks

The videos you actually want to watch (industry news, courses, channels you follow closely) get lost between the recommendation algorithm and a "watch later" list that only ever grows.

Watch Flow starts from a simple observation: you watch what you have planned. The product gives every followed channel a fixed place in the week, so that watching becomes a habit rather than a scroll.

The challenge

Detecting every new video in near real time across dozens of channels, without polling YouTube in a loop, then fitting it into a free slot without overlapping what is already planned, taking time zones and video lengths into account.

Firing each reminder on the minute, by email, push and calendar, and monetising the service through subscriptions with per-plan limits, while keeping onboarding down to a few minutes.

The solution

One WebSub subscription per followed channel, renewed automatically: YouTube notifies Watch Flow on every upload, and a recurring-slot engine works out the next available place.

Reminders scheduled for the exact time through a message queue, a Google Calendar sync that follows every change to the schedule, and Stripe billing that drives each plan's channel and slot quotas.
